Welcome to Maine Ancestry!
It has been a while since I have been able to work on this website. I am
off to Maine for two months and when I return, I plan to spend some time working
on the website and hopefully have some new information and photographs for you!
Meanwhile, I will upload any changes and additions that I have made to the
Family Tree Maker program recently onto the website this week. I am always
finding new bits of information but they don't always get to this website
quickly enough. Thank-you to everyone who has visited the site and
contacted me with corrections and data. It is very much appreciated.
The above buttons work as follows:
Index of Surnames takes you to
the list of thousands of individuals included in my database.
Documents
are those that pertain to people within the database and include obits,
certificates, etc. Photographs are of family and from old albums
and also gravestone photos and places in Maine, family reunions, etc.
Links are those other websites that I have found useful;
Maine Stuff
is a new category for scanned images of general interest for Maine research.
Other Families include my husband's lines and unrelated families.
All are works in progress. I hope that everyone who visits this site will find something interesting or
useful to them. I continue to add new information regularly and update the
site as often as is feasible. If you have any suggestions, corrections,
additions or comments please feel free to contact me. I am working on a
page of links that I have found particularly useful.
Be sure and check out the
photographs and scanned documents of our Maine ancestors and the towns they
lived in. If you have photos to share, please
contact me. I have also
included some of my photos from around Maine.
My primary family names are:
Dodge, Farrar, Frellick (Frelat, Ferlatte),
Gray,
Marble,
Martin, McFarland,
McKusick,
Olsen,
Packard,
Robinson,
Seiders,
Willard,
Witham. The towns in Maine that are of particular interest to me
include: Denmark, Bridgton, Hiram, Lovell, Cornish, Brownfield, Sebago, Buxton,
etc also Bristol, Boothbay, Waldoboro, Georgetown, etc. Also Portland area.
And, as you go further back in time, the towns of south coastal Maine. A link to my husband's English family has been added with his
father's line of
Chown
and his mother's of Babbs.
N.B. I can make no claim to 100%
accuracy of the information on this site. Please use as a guide only and
confirm for yourselves.
